One of the first things I do when I get to Israel…I get me some pereg cake. The bakery that makes it is around the corner from my apartment. They have been around for 40 years selling baked goods such as homemade burekas, rugelach, croissants, and most importantly poppy seed cake. (I love this stuff so much that anyone who comes and visits me in NYC has to smuggle in me one;)).
Just look at that love!!!
Jacob Weiss is the owner of the bakery. He is Hungarian born, lives in Israel and has been baking for over 40 years. When speaking with him he told me there is no greater joy in his life than baking. He radiated happiness. oy!
Bakery is partially outside! So cool!
